But they go to school, often for years, for both to get certified/licensed. They don’t just get those jobs right out of HS so what you’re saying is a bit misleading.
It takes 3-4 years to get an electricians license in England. That is the same time to earn a college degree.
Do plumbers have an age requirement like in NJ? You have to be 21 to apply to take the test here?
I think too many right wing liars have some of you convinced that these degrees are trash because people choose art history or something like that. If someone wants to be museum curator, that is their choice. I wouldn’t but hey.

But yes, well trained plumbers and electricians make great money. They just don’t only have a HS degree. They have to study and pass tests and earn a license/ certification.

My friend got a bachelors degree from a ****e University (and there are actually a lot of unis worse than his) and he works as a delivery driver, he's been doing it for years it's not a stop gap it's all he can get
That isn’t because of the degree. Maybe he didn’t use college like he should have.
Getting dunk and partying, not doing intern/externahips. Maybe he also isn’t trying hard to get a job in his field.
Even with a Masters it took me 6 months thus after graduation to get a job in my field.
Literally every day I had 2 jobs- managing a liquor store and scouring job sites to find work.
I know it’s much more difficult today.

University is meant to be (or should be) for people who are somewhat academic, you don't need to be Einstein but some of these clowns going to university struggled at high school level, them 'studying'for 3 years with other morons at a university on an easy course where you are competing againt other ******s doesn't change anything, if you can't get at least a B grade in a subject you shouldn't study it at University. Anyway there is nothing to debate in the UK they aren't employable unless they want a job in Starbucks
That is a distorted, warped view of life on a campus. Maybe that is how it is now. It doesn’t seem like it.
They are employable despite the market being rough.
