    You have a reading issue.

Now which LBJ quote are you referring to?
I don’t believe I posted you said a 4 yr degree was valueless. So perhaps it’s you with the reading issue.

The point being made is a degree from a better college/university correlates with a higher salary, indicating it is worth a lot today.

In post 245 you said a sociology degree was worthless. That is what I was referring to.

Seems you have more of a memory issue than I do a reading issue.

I posted the quote multiple times.

...most the baristas these days have a degree lol, a general degree (not a training course) from anything other than a top 20 (maybe 30) university is considered completely worthless... i wouldnt mind but these dunces never earn enough to pay back their loans so it comes out of public money, money for some ****** who struggled with maths at school to spend 3 years 'specialising' in a subject they are crap at, think my friend studied maths at university after just about scraping a pass in it at A-level

What value does a Sociology degree have modern day besides teaching it? I said that degree is worthless, not many or all degrees. Another reading issue.

          Now answer my question!.

Posted like someone who is gullible and not informed.

Madison, notice how the wealthiest and most educated people in society continue to create laws and policies to give their kids the best chance at a spot in the best high schools and colleges/universities.

In America a college grad earns on average $22k more than a HS grad. Over a lifetime, college educated people on average earn almost $1 mil more than a HS grad.

Guys like you and Z make yourselves look really shortsighted by pushing the “degree doesn’t matter” garbage.

How do you guys keep getting duped into not just believing but then spreading this insane idiotic garbage?

Kindly answer my question about the LBJ quote. You keep avoiding it for some reason.

Again, I didn’t post that you said many or all were worthless so clearly the reading issue is yours. Unless you’re just purposely fixating on that to avoid answering about the LBJ quote.

Sociology teaches you research methods that help understand and shape social policies through statistical and empirical analysis.

Worthless? I earn 3x the salary of the average American. Clearly there is value there.

You should check for yourself and stop parroting things you hear and read from very dumb political partisans that want to keep you easily duped.

It doesn't if the degree is from a trash university , then averages are weighted by the people on big salaries from the top universities studying medicine, law etc

I asked you what the LBJ quote is referring to? What how does it read? 2x asking....

Sociology can help with the DEI and *** policies ...you are for them right?

I care not to brag, but if you PM me, I might. It is a bit more than 3x the average salary.

Well that degree would still make more than someone with just a HS degree from a trash HS.

Lawyers and doctors have advanced degrees. Men with graduate degrees, like me, earn an average of over $1.5 million more than men with just HS degrees. That is roughly $600k more than a regular degree. This is regardless of university.

But I do agree a degree from a better university helps you earn more than a degree from a lower ranked college/university.

You’re playing games. I posted the quote a number of times. You’ve responded to posts with the quote in it, just not the actual quote. Why? I will put it down again.

President Lyndon Johnson said “If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you.“

Your 2nd paragraph illustrates the level of education you received in college.

I am for many of the policies that help offset years of discrimination that prevented everyone from sharing in the American Dream.

Of course I don’t have an ass backwards low education, right wing manipulated understanding of these policies.

Like DEI. A saw a point made that Kirk Ferentz, football coach at Iowa, employs a DEI type policy in making sure white DB’s have an opportunity to play where most schools don’t take white DB’s because of idiotic ancient stereotypes. He has produced a number of NFL DB’s that may not have otherwise gotten an opportunity. These weren’t 5 or 4 star recruits either.

So should black recruits with 5 & 4 stars get to the chance to play DB at Iowa? Of course not.

Other schools basing recruiting on these antiquated and race based stereotypes are missing out on talented players that could help the team.

Knowing things like this, why would any of us not in the chosen tier of society be against DEI policies?

No need to PM or brag. Just post it relative to the average American salary like I did.
