That's why UFC should allow soccer kicks like in Pride. If soccer kicks were allowed, these Jujitsu pansies wouldnt be effective.
Nurmagomedov KO1 Gracie poosies
1. royce was the aggressor in the beginning
It wasnt til later on when wrestlers were so scared of submissions that they just lay on top of bjj guys
2. Early ufc had no rules
You can soccer kick downed opponents from the beginning
Go watch ufc 1 and 2
Youll know how your made up story is wrong

Nowhere near rickson, relson, royler or even royce level
Oddly enough though rorions sons are pretty good
Theyre not fighters but very good technicians
Tae kwon do is a martial art?
Thats under rhythmic gymnastics I thoughtIf you train traditional Okinawan/ Japanese Karate TKD is a good primer for kicking. They teach one to open the hips more... Even if the synchronized Swim team beat them up in a milk and tapioca tea bar... It wasn't a fair fight because the Curling team got involved.
Rorian Looked like trash, but looks can be deceiving. he was probably one of the least gifted from a technical perspective, but he did fight tough guys... if you observe the multitude of Gracie guys fight, they tend to latch on with a "go to" technique... Rorian was very much like this.
As far as levels go... Yes on a technical level Rorion could not hang. But one component of Gracie training that gets shelved a lot these days, is the same principle applied in the post war Kodokan Judo... basically it is just going hammer and tongs on the mat. That was why Japanese Judo was such a mess... the Kodokan training was simply guys fighting on the mat. My son goes to a Gracie class and its 90% the guys fighting on the mat lol, but that is a part of Gracie stuff and it has made them able. Of course when I show him real Ju Jutsu, how to properly choke, etc he looks at me all wide eyed like, "why do they not do that?"

He used a triangle choke on mr. Joshua back in 1986
This was like 7 years before UFC 1

Keep one thing in mind as well my brotha from anudda mudda: The Gracies, over in Brazil fought against all kinds of wrestlers... Wrestlers in the USA had no inkling yet, that their skills could make them succesful fighters in the ring. Early tape often shows the Gracies going over and "Rolling" with wrestlers.

But from what I read and heard, he ******
Carlos gracies kids and other cousins would tap rorion left and right, to the disappointment of helio
He was no Carlson gracie or rolls gracie or rickson gracie
Obvious even though he ****** he knows a lot of technique and he passed it on to his sons
His sons are very good, the boys from the og gracie academy in torrance is all rorions sons
From what I read/heard about helios kids
Rickson = the best of helios son
Rolls = adopted son/nephew best before rickson
Relson = not the best but the one you DON'T want to fight on the street
Royler = smallest and weakest but most technical
Rorion was just the scummy business guy. A lot of the BS and crap came from rorions big mouth. All the gracie fairy tales and legal issues, most were rorion talking and suing.
Royce wasn't that good but he had heart and at the time rorion can control him so he got to fight in the ufc.
The family champ was rickson at the time but rorion can't control rickson.

In this country it is true that nobody heard of Brazilian Grappling (Judo or Jiu Jitsu). The Gracies came out, primarily in Southern California to start teaching.
Interesting story: When the UFC started, there was/is a group called the "Dog Brothers" that play with stick weapons full contact. I actually had a friend and got to train with a guy affiliated with them in New Mexico. The Dog Brothers wrote the UFC and asked if there could be a division for their stick fighting... the UFC basically said: "Are you crazy!!?"
