The person making your takeout in a restaurant typically makes $0 a week on their paycheck.
But by all means, feel free to not tip them. They'll totally understand and be happy to see you next time you come in.
How can this be allowed?

Restaurants get to skimp on pay and then try and guilt customers into picking up their slack by paying their employee. A lot of these waitresses and bartenders don't claim all their cash tips too. Credit card tips are the ones they can't really do that with. All tips should be forced into being card only due to this. More intelligent countries pay their waiting staff a set wage and there's no tips, the U.S. is retarded for not following suit. I bet if there was more waiters than waitresses it would've been addressed already.siablo14 likes this.

That's complete bullsheeit. You have no clue what you are talking about. Bartenders and waitresses still make a certain wage + tips.
A server or bartender is taxed based on their sales - the tax is an assumption they were tipped x percentage of those sales. So they pay taxes on your tip whether you tipped or not. If you do not tip on your carryout or dine-in experience, the server/bartender is still charged taxes because a tip is assumed.
That tax amount is then deducted from their pay, which is typically below minimum wage.
The tax nearly always outweighs the wage - so the server/bartender gets a paystub for $0 a couple times a month.Last edited by paulf; 09-12-2022, 11:29 PM.

I either dine in or have it delivered.
Those who pick up rather than the other 2 don't want to tip and why should they ?
Tipping is for service while dining.
You don't tip because your food was made available to be picked up.FinitoxDinamita

Moral of the story: tipping increases staff morale and improves food quality.
Give your best product and hope to get tipped. They're lucky they didn't lose you as a customer.
TBF, if the pay is so shltty, why do they stay doing it for so long ?
