    No contest...
Don't agree about any avoiding, for sure.
that's just your style of prose, to provoke a reaction.

But Frazier gets full 100% credit for whipping a prime Ali's ass in 1971.
People talk about Ali "no longer in his prime" at 29, or "not being ready after such a long layoff". That is horse****.
He prepped by steamrolling prime Jerry Quarry and prime Oscar Bonavena; two of the best opponents he (or anyone) ever faced, in preparation for facing Frazier.
People excuse that loss saying "He looked off, his timing was off, his legs were gone", in their need to explain how this happened, in spite of most of Ali's greatest accomplishments being still down the road!

Ali lost to Frazier when they were both in their prime....because Frazier, like Ali; was generationally great.

    I was there!!!!!

I don't like scoring fights. I mean I don't like that fights are scored.

IMO there is no such thing as a 10-9 round.

        With that said . . .

The fight, The FOC, was even except for the 11th and 15th rounds, which went to Frazier big. That was the fight; that was Frazier's victory and it was just.

There was no other round, in that fight, that showed us who was the better man.

P.S. I like Angelo Poletti who scored 10 rounds even for Duran-Leonard I.

With the possible exception of Shavers, the 11th was the closest Ali ever came to being stopped.

            - - Big George caved his body in so badly that Ali wasn't allowed the lucrative rematch, hence Wepner having him near tears in Podunk Ohio, a classic case of losing a battle before winning the war.

Foreman retired for over a year after the Ali fight.

Ali stopped Quarry on cuts the fight only went 3 rds, inconclusive.

Against Bonavena ,Ali looked sloppy and Jose Torres agreed with that.

We never saw Ali's prime it would have been during his exile.Angelo Dundee concurs with that.

Ali retreated to the ropes against Frazier, because he did not have full confidence in his stamina.

A more active Ali beat Frazier second time around.Frazier was 30

                    Ali was only 29?

                    Q. How old was Frazier when Foreman wrecked him?
                    A. 29!
The premise that Frazier was shot after FOTC is Horse **** imo.

He looked fine in his rematch with Quarry, and his performance in Manila blows that old chestnut out of the water, imo

                    We fundamentally disagree.
But hey, that's what forums are for!

                      - - Fought the famous 5 man exhibition in Canada to promote the Lucrative Ali Rematch in Indonesia while Ali was screaming he ain’t gittin’ no rematch ever.

Enter Wepner who had Ali bawlin’ like a baby, the same Wepner 3fight novice George dispatched in a few rounds…what grade was U in then?
