The steady decline of Taylor in recent years, coupled with this incident, is a clear sign for me. A bit like the first "alcohol rumors" about Sergei Kovalev, which - with the passage of time - revealed themselves to be true.
I did hear about that story. I dont think it's enough to call him a drunk. Kovalev got caught on video doing some and saying some wild stuff. And was actually convicted of assault.

I was more looking for stories like that but I did hear about that Taylor story. Are you from the UK?

No, I'm not from the UK. My (obviously debatable) theory arises - as I said - from the coincidence between that incident (which also involved cocaine possession) and Taylor's rapid decline in the following years. Even if you don't get caught again, when you're into alcohol and drugs - even for a short while - your boxing career is automatically on the slide. See Aaron Pryor, or Edwin Rosario, or - even worse - Edwin Valero, who didn't lose a fight but basically killed his wife because of cocaine-induced paranoia.

I agree. To be fair. Aaron Pryor and Edwin career wise are wayyyyy better than Taylor. I get what you are saying.

I also still think weight played a factor into this. It gotta be a reason why he never moved up when he knew he was kinda struggling with the weight drugs or not.

I still think he was avoiding 147, kinda like Devin Haney who is also on this list and probably the second worst undisputed champion.

I actually voted before I read through the list

Once I did, I kind of changed my mind & now I think it is Josh, since I think Devin will probably pick up a trinket or 2 at 147 eventually & he's still (technically) undefeated.

Does anyone think Josh will do well in his next fight? I put in a bet for him.

He should win his next fight. It is a major step down. Essuman is a domestic level fighter fighting at euro level atm who is on the second half of his 30s. At European level he has picked up belts but also before lost to a nobody and basically I was gobsmacked when I saw this was Taylors next fight. He should win it but he has fallen off so hard I wouldnt be comfortable betting on him just because he is not a reliable guy. As an idea at the level Essuman has been operating, a few fights ago Essuman fought Chris Kongo, the guy who lost on the undercard here to Owen Cooper.

Why do you care to define such a thing?

Oh god. He's in my 25 leg parley. I don't even trust Josh Taylor. I am just hoping since he's fighting at home and they will rig it for him for the decision. I pray to God he doesn't pull a Ryan Garcia. Please Jesus!!! I need this parley !!!

Because becoming undisputed is one of the most pinnacle things you can do in boxing and I wanted to rank all the undisputed champions and while thinking about it I realized Josh Taylor was the worst IMO, so I created a forum to see if other boxing fans agree. I like Taylor. I got money on him in his next fight. He better win!!! .

So do you think he's the worst or not?
