I think Ward Bond steals the show when he is humbled, and walks proudly into the Corbett after party. "Hello Jim......". That scene always gets me. My favorite moment of any boxing film ever.

I would add Shadowbox by George Plimpton.

The section on the build up to the first Ali fight gave a stark insight as to just how much awe and terror Liston was regarded in by press and public alike.

Mostly it was George trying to re-make sense of the world.
We saw some of that with Ali after Frazier I. More recently, we saw it with Wilder. It can happen when the seemingly invincible get taken down a peg.
