Can I get some serious answers, did the government sell us out???
Why do you think we are "so dependent" upon China? Buying cheap goods is one thing, but very little of our food is grown in China, it is often used as a processor, again...Not a big deal.
China can not feed itself without imports...We can. Dependence is a relative term. Most people could easily adjust to paying more for things that we get overseas. I mean I like the fact that underwear cost next to nothing, but if it cost twice as much? its not like Milk costing twice as much.
People don't seem to realize that we are not really so dependent. I agree with Trump on this point. China must not be allowed to grow their state. Stop shipping cheap food if we must and subsidize our farmers, then see how dependent we are on China lol.
it's more of a relationship of convenience rather than dependence. we aren't really dependent on China for anything other than being able to buy cheap plastic **** at a lower cost and they will figure that out fast if they haven't already.

this. China just got too spoiled, too smug and too greedy over time with one dumb, globalist administration after another leading the US. it's time they get pimp smacked back to reality before things get too out of our control.
Its easy to forget the common folk. Wal-Mart, the 99cent store, and The Dollar Tree are examples of the demand for "cheap sh.t."
This right here hit it on the nail. People want shhh cheaper and cheaper knowing its impossible to pay people a liveable wage and sell things that cheap. Also to the fool who mentioned Clinton, that was Bush Jr who totally opened the floodgates of having an HQ externally being able to sell stuff here and only having to pay state tax. Happened because Cheney pushed that for Halliburton dont lie to the people! Go watch the walmart documentaries youll see sellers admit they barely make any money even when importing their stuff from China, youd lose money making that stuff here. Midwest had a lot to do with this change as did the south because thats where most bargain giants came up.
