I always said like the check they do they should do a database for people that medically can't get one. It doesn't have to reveal the medical issue why they can get a firearm and it doesn't violate HIPAA. Do many mentally ill slipping through the cracks.

How do you do that? How do you check someone’s medical records without checking them? You can’t just stamp “mentally ill” for anything. Someone being in anti depressants shouldn’t disqualify them from protecting their family

They would have to decide what is what, it is not like it is going to happen but having something in place is better than having nothing at all. All of this is arguable until you at the other side of the barrel.

If you are talking about semi auto rifles being banned

There is nothing different between a "hunting" semi auto rifle or a "military" hunting rifle

That's why all the "assault weapons" laws have been purely cosmetic.

How do you figure they’re not used for hunting?

AR-15’s are sporting rifles, mainly for target shooting but I’ve seen some injuns on rez hunt with them
