    Yellow: overall lowest cumulative time

Green: most "sprint" points - certain stages have "sprint" segments where points are awarded to the 1st through 15th place rider.

Polkadot: most "KOM" king of the mountain points. certain segments of the stages have "climbing" sections where KOM points are awarded to the 1st rider through the checkpoint

White: overall lowest cumulative time for youngest rider.

One of the intriguing aspects of the Tour de France is the multiple competitions within the race. There's the stage win, the "GC" general classification i.e. yellow jersey, there's the sprints, KOM, team classifications, etc., etc.

There's so much going on at the same time in the race that makes it dynamic and interesting.

All I see is a bunch a entitled pricks.

I hope you enjoy the race, though.

I probably should get a helmet regardless).
              - - Never wore a helmet or spandex either, but I still have my 1962 TDF equipped Schwinn 15 speed I used to chase down the spandex helmet boys on their new Euro toys to blast past in a breeze.

As it turned out when I was using the bike for a 6 mile commute to work, I was posting Prologue speeds and times, ie averaging 25 mph making more right turns and grade changes on city streets dealing with traffic and parked cars than the TDF routes.

But those are fun sprints where I passed up a lot of cars too. Not interested the cruel gruel of TDF.

BTW, I was in stage by stage email contact with Lance's trainer in his first two wins. We were all in 7th Heaven in them days.

Damn. Averaging 25 mph in traffic. Without a helmet? I mean I'm all for the no spandex no helmet jig but I wouldn't go that far! Then again, you sound like you are much more experienced with it than I would be. Good shlt!

                      - - Never hit the pavement on my bicycle. Had a couple of 80 mph bust ups through no fault of mine where I took a tumble in a helmet. Never had a single scratch on that helmet that I mainly wore for eye protection. Some folks intuitively know how to take a fall, whereas others hit their noggins.

Austin was a pristine small town then and the air breathable. Put me then in Austin today, and I'd be choking and slowing to have to pick my spots around the spilled gravel, big rocks, and transmission spills. I did pass up a couple spandexes on a steep neighborhood grade not so long ago before I parked that bike permanently. I was embarrassed for them.
