People will oppose regulation who understand and value the Constitution as written.

It's very clear on gun ownership, it says that right "shall not be infringed" upon. That's crystal clear.

And raising ages is not the answer. In America, at 18 you are an adult. You can vote, get married, get drafted by the Federal Government, voluntarily join the military, and go to adult prisons among other things.

You don't get all that but not full gun rights as called for in the Constitution.

The red flag laws are most concerning.

Sioux Falls SD, Pop 193K, 7 murders

Jackson MS, Pop 163K, 155 murders

        Guess it’s not the guns…
It's not "guns." It's access to guns. It's not difficult to understand.

Your comparison, however, is foolish. The median family income in Sioux Falls is $61,738. The median family income in Jackson is $40,064. More violent crime in a poorer area? Who would have thunk it?!

Both states have lenient gun laws, driver’s license and quick background check.

So poverty rate of Jackson is 30%, Sioux Falls is 11%. So only 3x the poverty rate but murder rate is over 20x, the math doesn’t add up.

How would you know about the math adding up? Is there an exact number that poverty should affect murder rate? "Only 3x" sounds high to me first of all.

The comparison doesn't make much sense. You can't just ignore things like the income, poverty rate, unemployment rate (3.3 for Sioux Falls and 7.7 for Jackson) etc.

But do you think the murder rate remains the same if they were forced to use knives for instance?

These cities are similar in just about every way with only a couple of exceptions regarding political leadership and demographics. You can crunch the numbers to fit your bias all day long, but the facts are the facts. It’s not the guns.

Ah, the myth of poverty having a direct correlation to crime.

                      That's easily disproved.

During the Great Depression, we saw poverty (and poverty rates) at levels never before seen or seen since. Yet crime rates during that time were nowhere near record levels.

I've cited this many, many times when debating countless superfans who play that worn out talking point about poverty and crime bring directly related.

To date; I've yet to get even one rational response to that point.....
