Comments Thread For: Canelo: Mayweather Underestimating Me, Very Worried

Preparing properly even for foes that weren’t considered true threats to his unblemished record has been one of Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s greatest strengths during his Hall-of-Fame career.

Mayweather’s history suggests that he’ll be as mentally and physically ready as possible when he steps into the ring Saturday night in Las Vegas for his heavily hyped, pay-per-view showdown with Saul “Canelo Alvarez. The 36-year-old Mayweather’s opponent is, after all, 12 years younger and naturally larger than him, undefeated and unusually experienced for a boxer who’s just 23 years old (43 professional fights).

Canelo is a very mature young man. Floyd is a talker, but so far he has more than backed up all his self praise. Will be interesting to see if the young lion can take him out of his comfort zone.

Say What You Want, Canelo WILL Knock Out Floyd Mayweather; The End Of The Gravy Train

Floyd's mouth, like so many, like Pernell Whitaker, like Vinnie Pazienza, like Roy Jones Jr, like James Toney, like Hector Camacho, like David Haye, like Antonio Tarver, like Zab Judah, like Amir Khan, like Paulie Mags... their day comes and the running of the mouth gets them a serious beatdown. Floyd is next, as is Danny Garcia, as is Adrien Boner...yes I said it right, "Boner". Canelo will knock Mayweather COLD, and then we'll see what he has to say Sunday morning, besides "where's the Advil... I need another ice pack".
