    - Roster/Talent (does GBP have the deepest roster out there) - Yes
    - Fights made (Does GBP put on the best match ups?)
    - Quality of cards (as a whole, does GBP put on solid cards) - Yes. Definitely but they are still pretty weak compared to say an MMA card. It's all to do with $$$.
    - Money (Are they getting **** for their buck? Does GBP overpay its fighters and not get good results?) - Yeah, they probably do overpay their fighters. Though I rather they overpay them than exploit them and make them fight for peanuts. Though if they get paid less, they are more inclined to fight often in order to pay bills.

GBP are the strongest stable out there, 5-6 years ago it was Top Rank arguably, I'd say but the top fighters are jumping the sinking Top Rank ship and moving to GBP or Al Haymon and partnering with GBP. I am not a fan of Top Rank at all because Bob Arum just seems to be a very unreasonable, stubborn old man who should leave the business to his son-in-law. GBP actually seem like they want to co-promote but Top Rank don't want any of it. I do hope that the smaller promoters in the states like Lou DiBella get more up and comers though. A monopoly is never really good for the industry in the long term.

All of these promoters are shady though, well I'll say 99% of them. Lou DiBella actually seems like a cool guy and that he actually cares for his fighters, who knows though.

Both Golden Boy and Top Rank are the same to me. They both have the same motives and both behave the same

No such thing as best promoter in this business. Everyone wants to build up undeserving stars.

          Ask Paul Malignaggi.

Golden Boy must be doing something right if they got Floyd coming back for their services. Hell, he even dropped 50 for trying to instigate and break up their partnership...

Even Cotto is on board and making more money than ever.

simply put, i appreciate GBP's latest efforts in the past couple of years. they try to stack their cards with good match-ups. i mean, top rank has a "take it or leave it" type of attitude in regards to their cards.

as for talent, its very close, but edge goes to GBP.

GBP: broner, canelo, guerrero, maidana, matthysse, khan, lara, garcia, quillin, russell jr, thurman, (mayweather, b-hop)

TR: rios, bradley, donaire, alvarado, mikey garcia, jcc jr, rigo, viloria, juanma,(pac, jmm)

HBO will be hurting. Showtime + GBP will do some damage.

only reason why Floyd is with GBP is cause he has no fear of anyone in GBP's stable. basically Floyd is gonna clean out their stable from 140-147.

the only reason Cotto went with GBP is to get a fight with Floyd.

the reason Floyd dropped Fiddy was cause Fiddy kept trying to make the Pac fight when Floyd don't really want anything to do with that fight

Is GBP All That, Some of That, or None of That?

If GBP is the ticket, it remains to be seen. We are nearly in April and haven't seen a big GBP fight yet this year (Hopkins vs Cloud? Please!). Let's see what's coming up: 1) Juan Diaz vs Pipino Cuevas, JR- 4/13/13; Who? Pipino is 16/9, w/all wins & losses by way of KO. How long has Diaz been washed-up? Didn't Juan Manuel Marquez destroy him in 2009? What has he done since? Oh yeah, he retired in 2011! 2) Canelo Alvarez vs Austin Trout-4/20/13; Should be interesting. It's about time we see Canelo fight a big fight w/ a champion of his generation. 3) Danny Garcia vs Zab Judah-4/27/13; Garcia is a good young fighter, while Zab is a former champion whose best days are clearly behind him. Looks like another case when the young and hungry gets to beat up the old and washed-up. 4) Amir Kahn vs Julio Diaz-also 4/27/13; Kahn is a good fighter with a clear inability to take a good punch. It's like owning a Ferrari that blows its engine every time you gun it. Julio lost his title to none other than Juan Diaz in 2007! Sounds like a tune-up fight to me. And last but not least, 5) Floyd Mayweather, JR vs Robert Guerrero-5/4/13; Mayweather still has star power, but for how long? He should easily beat Guerrero, who beat, but could not finish a rather small and weak-chinned Andre Berto. So, is this GBP's "big line up" for the first half of the year? If these types of match-ups are all it can muster, GBP will not likely be named promoter of the year.

I don't understand fans that cheerlead for promotors. They don't give 2 craps about fans. Their sole purpose is to put money in their pockets and elevate the profile of their fighters. If that's the criteria then yes they're the best but that isn't saying much. It's the exact same thing every other promotor does. In terms if quality fights and stacked cards nobody has surpassed prime Don King (the crook).

If GBP can elevate Sho and bring more subscribers to
Sho than HBO then they'll clearly be the #1 promotional outfit. But that and a bus pass gets you on a bus. Big whoop.
