I think one of Floyd's best attributes in the ring are his smarts. He doesn't seem to stick strictly with any particular style, there fore his attribute is "he can adjust" to whoever he's fighting.

I've seen many of his fights, and this is what Ive seen him do the most. Adjust. What i took from Diaz's Comment is that Floyd is a human being, and can be beat, like any other man. I'm fairly sure Diaz and Cotto know what they are up against, and they are keeping the camp positive. I like it.

It pains me to bet against my fav fighter, but i seriously doubt Cotto can win this fight. He has a small chance, but it's a chance. It's not like it's written in stone Cotto will lose.
Like i said before, my heart is with Cotto, but my points are on Floyd.

I hope i lose. I will be very, very happy to pay who i bet.

i wouldn't myself say floyd is a "normal" fighter as such, but i believe i know what díaz means, given the context of him being a cuban coach.
the cubans have a very developed understanding of the term "talent"

when talking about natural talents, the only standouts that mayweather has are his speed and reactions, the rest is stuff that have been learned and trained, and that applies to a large extent to the two things i just mentioned. his work ethic does set him apart though-

ie. he is not naturally a devastating puncher, he doesn't have a chin like vitali, he doesn't have a "special" trademark punch that sets him apart, etc etc.

he is kind of a normal guy who has been crafted into something extraordinary. you look at gamboa, he has ******ly fast hands that whip up into a "ciclón" of shots, that is not "normal".

The ability to adjust is perhaps the single greatest attribute that Mayweather possesses. He identifies, adjusts and corrects very precisely and very quickly. Once Floyd understands what needs to be done, he skillfully steers the fight in the direction he wants to take it. It's a rare talent, one seen in only the greatest boxers; because, let's face it, it can only be employed if you have the physical tools and boxing skills to apply it.

Can you elaborate? I'm curious to read what you have to say about this.

                Very.

Timing, feints, hitting you before you think to move, moving out of the way of a punch before you thought to use it.

Then add the fact that he methodically breaks opponents down with shots that don't look powerful then come the 10th round and the opponent doesn't know why he is tired, why his legs won't move, why his arms feel heavy, why his neck is stiff and why Floyd is standing in front of him looking like he did in the 1st round and/or smiling too.

That's not normal at all. That is remarkably special.

You're just a hater, how about him taking on almost the entire 140 division - his jab, movement, and power punching is one thing. And then his whole style to the game is another, never changed his face in that ring, he can bounce with the best and is solid all around - you nigas forget Cotto got battered with plaster then lost his uncle as a trainer and his passion for boxing, followed by a demanded catch weight to fight the P4P guy (among other things), then losing his pops. Then he comes back and fights guys naturally bigger than him - Takes Foreman's 0 away (who was supposed to outbox him), showed he has crazy good movement when he got his balance back - everyone has flaws - you prolly like dudes that get knocked the **** out off one punch(P. Williams, Kirkland, Jacobs), Cotto never has *****. Then he batters Cheato and shoves him around like a lil hoe, showing that Margarito cannot hurt him without plaster. He got REVENGE, haha. Shouldn't even respond to an ignoramus as crazy as you. Prolly one of those "Only Pacman, Sergio M. and Floyd are elite fighters type of dudes." Hilarious some of you claim to be a fan of this sport and cannot appreciate a throwback fighter of Cotto's magnitude. There's a reason why REAL boxing guys like Steward and Roach have claimed Cotto is a force, and Mosley saying he's not to be taken lightly. Steward is actually a huge Cotto fan. Dude been pounding bigger fighters than him for years. He whipped Quintanna who outboxed P. Williams years before he lost to Martinez. But did he get love for that? NAAHH - none of them did, only from a few objective fans. The biased against PR's is crazy. Martinez gets mad love on here yo, if he was Rican that should would be a different story. You judge Cotto's career and never watched his tapes more than likely - Ceballos, Urkal, etc. Floyd ducks and dodges *****es all day and fights dudes w/o **** left. And whatver opponents they share, Cotto knocks out, while Floyd goes to a decision, except for Shane. Cotto's win over and active Shane >>>> better than May's over OLD MAN Can't Pull the Trigger Mosley. Cornball wanna call out Pacman then not accept 50/50. May 5th that 0 will go.
Best post ever in the history of Boxingscene.

You can't say shit when Cotto loses then.

You'll just have to be humbled. You talked all this crap about how great Cotto is and how poor Floyd is. When Cotto gets beat, in all his greatness, you can't say shit and can only recognize it as a great win for Floyd.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with what Diaz said, and I'm sure he knows how difficult this fight will be. He's just being positive.
the only thing unusual about what mayweather does is how well he does it. and he does do what he does very unusually well, but yeah what you're saying makes sense
