Lol Cats are blowin what he said out of proportion. I think Diaz has watched more Floyd tapes than any of us on this board combined. He knows what type of fighter Floyd is, and he knows how dynamic and unpredictable he is. He's mentioned this in other interviews, doggie.

In the context in which he said it, he meant Floyd was normal in the sense he has flaws like any other fighter has flaws. And he does.

he went on to sum up their training as "el golpe, el desplazo y la defensa",
    basically, striking, displacement/movement and defense.

I don't neccesarily think this means that they will wait for Floyd to be the aggressor, just that Cotto won't be as aggressive moving forward as he has in previous fights.

I think Diaz's technical experience serves Cotto's style well. He's still one of my favorite boxers man, although its hard seeing him take this one. I got Floyd by decision.

Floyd's aware of this. He's already stated that he won't be on the backfoot for this fight.

I wonder why Diaz would lie about that?

Let me ask you this, Malik:

Why is Cotto one of your favorite fighters?

I mean .. his biggest win came over Mosley, who was coming back down to 147 after a failed attempt to become a force at 154. Other than that, what has Cotto shown you that would have you choose him as a favorite?

          I'm just curious.

I wouldn't believe everything I hear regarding a radio show, there's not even a confirmed article. I like confidence but underestimating Floyd would be disastrous and amateur, I really doubt he thinks that. Cotto himself has said Floyd is a great fighter.

Don't care if you didn't ask me, it's a public forum, so here:

You're just a hater, how about him taking on almost the entire 140 division - his jab, movement, and power punching is one thing. And then his whole style to the game is another, never changed his face in that ring, he can bounce with the best and is solid all around - you nigas forget Cotto got battered with plaster then lost his uncle as a trainer and his passion for boxing, followed by a demanded catch weight to fight the P4P guy (among other things), then losing his pops. Then he comes back and fights guys naturally bigger than him - Takes Foreman's 0 away (who was supposed to outbox him), showed he has crazy good movement when he got his balance back - everyone has flaws - you prolly like dudes that get knocked the **** out off one punch(P. Williams, Kirkland, Jacobs), Cotto never has *****. Then he batters Cheato and shoves him around like a lil hoe, showing that Margarito cannot hurt him without plaster. He got REVENGE, haha. Shouldn't even respond to an ignoramus as crazy as you. Prolly one of those "Only Pacman, Sergio M. and Floyd are elite fighters type of dudes." Hilarious some of you claim to be a fan of this sport and cannot appreciate a throwback fighter of Cotto's magnitude. There's a reason why REAL boxing guys like Steward and Roach have claimed Cotto is a force, and Mosley saying he's not to be taken lightly. Steward is actually a huge Cotto fan. Dude been pounding bigger fighters than him for years. He whipped Quintanna who outboxed P. Williams years before he lost to Martinez. But did he get love for that? NAAHH - none of them did, only from a few objective fans. The biased against PR's is crazy. Martinez gets mad love on here yo, if he was Rican that should would be a different story. You judge Cotto's career and never watched his tapes more than likely - Ceballos, Urkal, etc. Floyd ducks and dodges *****es all day and fights dudes w/o **** left. And whatver opponents they share, Cotto knocks out, while Floyd goes to a decision, except for Shane. Cotto's win over and active Shane >>>> better than May's over OLD MAN Can't Pull the Trigger Mosley. Cornball wanna call out Pacman then not accept 50/50. May 5th that 0 will go.

Floyd has no strategy nor gameplan. Floyd fights as if he's reading ur mind and knows ur flaws soon as u step in the ring. If anything u have to have a gameplan on what NOT to do against him and to overcome of not beating urself up over it, which all 41 fighters have done.

I'm not saying Diaz didn't use the word "normal" in describing Floyd; but remember, the TS is relaying what Pedro said. In order for us to know what Cotto's trainer really said or meant, we would have to listen to or read the interview ourselves. With all respect to the TS, we don't know what Diaz meant, or in what context he used the word "normal," or if he even used the word in the first place.

It reminds me of a scene in the movie "The Color of Money." Paul Newman calls Tom Cruise "a character." Cruise looks over at his girlfriend and says, "Did you hear that? He said I have character!" Newman corrects him, "No. I said you are a character. There's a difference...."
