Shakur Stevenson literally holds the BEST plus/minus in boxing, which means he's doing a lot more than outlanding guys by 3 punches.

        His hand was broken.

And he still won the fight easily.

            Hit & don't get hit

            That's the sweet science

Stevenson outlanded De Los Santos in 9 of the 12 rounds & they tied in 2 others.

Meaning De Los Santos only outlanded Stevenson in ONE round.

            That's not winning, bro.

It was a torn tendon, which he had surgery on after the fight.

                thats not what im reading

it says he did that injury sparing

"Video footage has emerged showing the exact moment suffered a brutal hand injury during a sparring session for his highly anticipated October 12th fight against in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia."

Thats what that pic is from of him in the hospital bed

As I got older, I appreciate technical boxers, but I definitely favor aggression more than I did as a late teen or in my early 20's.

Guys like Inoue, Crawford, Boots, Bivol, Lomachenko. Guys who can box but try to press the action.

Another thing is, you have the chance to change your life, your family's life and get generational wealth if you win. Instead of giving it your all you just are happy to survive to a decision, fight in spurts, where you can just claim you were robbed. If you're in a big time fight and don't even try to win I never want to see you again.

Also I would like to point out to most posters that boxers that fight like that do so on purpose. They will intentionally avoid action, dance around, fight in spurts in hopes of playing spoiler and getting lucky with a decision. My mind was changed once I found out they intentionally do this.
                  Agreed 100%

As a Cuban , I concur. When it's bad it's terrible, even when it's good it's bad to be honest. There's hope though , these new young Cubans want to make money and they know that KNOCKOUTS add ZEROES to their checks.

If you love hit but don't get hit, it's got plenty of value. I'd rather watch Inoue, Chocolatito, Bam Rodriguez, Lomachenko, etc personally. And it's really nice when they've got the power to stop their opponents. I think the world of Bivol and Usyk, but their lack of power in their current divisions takes a lot of the suspense and excitement out of the fight. Let's not even get into Shakur and Haney...

Although I actually like Rigo. Just wish he was a little more offensively minded. The current Cuban school as represented by guys like Morrell Jr, Andy Cruz, and Osley Iglesias is very fun to watch though.

Excellent post sir ! I couldn't agree more.
