Comments Thread For: Andrade: David Benavidez is a Hell of a Fighter, I Thought My Skills Would Overwhelm Him

Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas - On Saturday night, former two division world champion Demetrius Andrade (32-1, 19 KOs) suffered the first defeat of his pro career, when he was stopped in six rounds by David Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs).

Yeah, Kell Brook was more skillful than Golovkin too [who we all know was "straight up and down"] but that didn't work out too well either. That's why if Usyk beats Fury it'll be a monumental feat.

I think we could finally put to rest this notion that was talked about for multiple years that Andrade and Charlo are the most avoided boxers because they are just so good no one wanted to fight them. If anything it was always these 2 guys dodging everything with a pulse in hope to land a payday....

It’s not only that with Benavidez though, he outboxed Andrade, the size and strength and speed was a plus to his better skills then boo boo. He is a skilled brawler with great stamina, dangerous for anyone

Andrade should hold his head high. He fought valiantly, but Benavidez is better....as the fight revealed over time. Andrade used his athleticsm to the best of his abilities - that was his strength in my opinion. I had this fight even after the knockdown in the 4th (I gave swing round 1 to Andrade; it could've gone either way). However, it became clear that Benavidez had taken this fight over, and that it would be a matter of time before Andrade would fall, barring a miracle. There would be no miracle.
