Cardio has to be the most important. Just the ability to go the distance throwing and taking punches for twelve cause that’s always the possibility.
He just needs to feel his best in the ring. He will know better than anyone where he feels the most confident. The best on his feet, the most explosive, dynamic. Do all the work you need to do and let the weight fall naturally. It’s not like he’s coming into camp obese. Eat the amount of calories that make you feel lean, mean and full of energy.
He’s such a big guy his weight can fluctuate so much from day to day depending on water and carb intake. ( carbs hold water molecules ) So try not to sweat it. Don’t worry about the scale. There’s no limit or fine no matter what. He’s always going to look great physically. He just needs to fight great.
My uncle was a national level rugby player. World Cups. He’s 6’5 245lbs. Claims to have run a 5 minute mile. Boxers have to fight with their shirts off so you see their muscularity. Cause comments. A lot of people are more lean and muscular than you’d think but you can’t always tell under their clothes.
Your own feet will tell you what feels best, but a scale.
    Good Information.

At the beginning of Joshua's career, he participated in a show called 'Super Stars'.

I think he actually won the event against all other athletes. I am not 100% on this, but for sure he was one of the best over various athletic disciplines.

Sprints, Middle Distance events, throwing, jumping you name it.

I just think people are overly critical of Joshua, he has specific strengths as a athlete. Unfortunately being a endurance based athletes is not one of his innate strengths.

But? I still think he has shown great feats of endurance and durability during his career. It was endurance at 250 pounds, which basically won him his fight vs Kiltschko etc.

You may be able to find the 'Superstars competition' online.

This was just before Joshua turned professional.

If Joshua was competing against Tyson Fury in a super stars event, I honestly don't think there is a athletic event which Tyson Fury would win.

I think Joshua would beat Fury over all the sprints, all the distance events, all the throwing events and jumping events.

So the potential is there to transfer all of that ability inside the boxing ring. But I am under no illusion, Joshua seems to struggle with that transfer etc.

I’ll try to find it. I followed AJ as he was coming up. I’m not surprised he’s a well rounded athlete. I look at him and I see an 8th man for a Rugby Team. Getting to where he has is no joke. I don’t think he’s a natural fighter like like Usyk, Fury or even Wilder. I mean Wilder comes to fight and throws bombs even when he looks like he shouldn’t be able to after a beating.
I think AJ is an athlete turned fighter. There’s no running or jumping in boxing though. He’s shown a great uppercut in the past. He’s also found ways to get comfortable mid fight and mid range before.
I still think the coolest thing he did was jump all over Ruiz when he dropped him. He landed huge punches and really went for it. The problem is Ruiz showed the heart of a lion and a great chin. You could tell Ruiz was upset he went down and was determined to fight back. AJ got caught himself and then things changed. I still think it was a gutsy performance by both fighters.
I think AJ is now nervous to exchange. He needs to clear his mind of that loss and how it went down. He could have very well landed that follow up punch to end that fight. He needs to fight like the underdog, and try to land that clubbing blow and then go for a Finnish. It’s his best chance. The ref could always stop it on a flurry.
Course he’s already been on top, lost a couple times now. The check always clears.
If he improves he will get credit, if Usyk looks worse it will be noticed. There’s ways AJ can win on points here considering the precedent of the scores in the last fight.
I thought Usyk’s legs would tire at some point but they never did and he started fast.
      May the best man win.
