Can Usyk become the 1st modern HW champ who doesn't get ktfo or KD?

I've noticed that through all of boxing history,I can't think of many HW fighters who kept from getting kd because they fought like smaller guys despite being a HW. Marciano is the only 1 I can think of who was only kd his last fight iirc?

Its amazing how many HW champs got kd or ktfo regularly. It seems like if ever there is a HW who fights like a lhw he'll be able to have a long successful reign because the rest rely heavily on power & don't fight like smaller guys.

Am I missing someone? I am just amazed that Usyk might be the one?

Is Usyk good enough to go undefeated (or KD?)

I have to assume he is referring to when Usyk lost his foot in when he fought Glowacki, was never a knockdown

Your seeing something that a lot of us think is a fact overlooked by the size queens. What makes a great heavywieght sort of taps out at around 210-240, and a lot of guys today that walk around at 240-250ish are overweight fighters... look at Martin and Ortiz tonight as an example. It used to be part of training to come into the ring as light as one could be... not necessarily looking great, but light.

Usyk is a medium boned light heavy phenom who reminds me of James Tunney. Tunney simply was better at light heavy, one of the very best ever, but could still fight at an atg level as a heavyweight as well. Tunney, or Usyk were/are good enough, and can pack weight on (usyk weighed in at around 240 for the Joshua fight) even if need be, both men could e competative against any heavyweight.

It shouldn't suprise anyone if Usyk can become the top of the division. I don't think he gets by Fury, but he could... and Fury is not the best out there because he is big... Fury's reach is great, so was Liston's though... and reach is more important than size truth be told.

Walcott put Rock down in the first round using his "Sucka Punch". This is the technique Joe's going for in the 13th, he was looking to put Marciano away but Rock had planned from the 1st to the 13th when Joe goes for it again Rocky cuts him off. This cut off is the "Suzie Q" and one of the baddest KO's of all time.

Ezzard cut him and almost won by stoppage from the cut. Rocky was given one round to win, his nose was cut in half and plastered together, for real, plaster. He KO'd Ezzard.

Moore scored a knockdown on The Rock before being knocked down four or five times himself, by the 9th Moore can't make the count.

And Ted Lowry. Ted is a good guy to use for a knowledge test. Dudes giving Rocky **** but forget Ted, forget Ted, because they don't know. Feed them ted and they never forget him.

"I beat Rocky that night and that’s it," Lowry said. "He changed his strategy in the fifth round and made a fight of it, but I won two of the last six rounds after winning the first four. It was a hometown decision."

I don't have a handy report but the jist is Lowry beat Marciano for four rounds, folks thought Rocky was on his way out. No knockdowns just a very staggered and ready to go Marciano. In the fifth Rocky comes out and takes control. By the end Marciano is given the decision.

Folks thought Lowry took a dive because they thought he was about to win and simply stopped trying. Lowry claims Rocky adapted but wasn't enough for the win and feels like he got robbed.

In the rematch Marciano beat Lowry one-sided. Marciano would say something like in 100 fights he doesn't think he could KO Ted once. Ted would claim he won the first fight until his death, but never made any claim he won the second.

LaStarza almost beat Marciano too, but, didn't ever hurt him.

To be clear, Marciano was down twice in 49 fights. Moore and Walcott.
