Hatton and Canelo were at the top, young and 2 guys who were thought to stand a chance....most great champs are dissected a little more than others...had he lost a few times I bet its not even in anyones mind how good he was, usually you need to lose otherwise who did you really fight, this type of thought is the norm, just read some of the posts on here. Also compare some other resumes of past champs in any weight class.for the most part a fighter only has less than a handful of top quality prime fighters on the list.

I do think Oscar I right on the Pacman claim however.

the only way Floyd evercomes out of retirement is iif he fights Oscar and Oscar sweetens the deal and has to dress up as a lady at one of his fight promotions...that's the only way I can seeit happenening.

Don't tell me disingenuous, Slip Stream. You obviously have confusion over what that word means. Back to the dictionary for you, brains.

Great champions take on the greatest talents when they are at the top of their game. Your idol did not do that.

Suddenly you are one of those people who "understands the sport," that so many others just don't get. Sigh. Yeah, there are a few more like you trolling the board. They have the same high understanding that got you where you are today.

Sorry I rattled your little cage, fanboy. Now go talk to someone who understands. A man of your superior cognition has better things to do than reply to me, I hope. Please, anyway.

I didn't see this until now, and my goodness aren't you worked up. I'm taking what you say with a grain of salt and hope you do as well. Please try not to take what you write seriously, please, but if you do continue to avoid reality and recede to the shadows of your hate make the best of it mate. But let's see though, I'm a "fanboy" because I choose not to go along with a script? Because I exercise a modicum of free thought I'm categorized instead, and I assume from your post dismissed? What is it with you soft lard assed posters that can't take being challenged or anyone saying something decent about Mayweather?

Truth be told, Oscar looks like an assh0le for sure about now and he realizes this, there's no way to exonerate him or be an ally. But who wants to be an ally to the Captain of the Titanic right? His letter is skewed through a corporate albeit jealous lens. What goes around comes around....

Don't call a man disingenuous, then. There is nothing insincere about my post. MW was one of the best defensive boxers of all time, but he was not a great champion in my view. He did not meet the standards. Great champions do not dip to the occasion, they rise to it.

Dude he was more avoided than herpes and champions that should have faced him didn't. Some fans try to put this all on Floyd as if he has to meet some sort of impossible invisible litmus test/"standards" but in my mind, it is what it is. Mayweather will receive the hate he does until he doesn't and there are many reasons for this of course, but for a guy who didn't meet the standard he stood mountains above everyone else.

I enjoyed Floyd's fights.. Watched his whole career unfold, and yes as he advanced in age and weight, his style became less explosive and became less risky and "boring" much like hopkins in his old age.. Similar to how Michael Jordan in later years relied on his turn around jump shot instead of dunking..

Oscar makes some legit points, but honestly sounds like sour g****s

The real problem for Oscar is that he was supposed to let go of his hate and anger... that was supposed to make him a better person and, a person unencumbered by a drug habit. This letter shows how little oscar has learned.

Mayweather has every right to judge Oscar back...is that what Oscar wants? I know I wouldn't open up that door if I had done some of the stuff Oscar has.

Apparently Oscar is realizing the mistake he made with this letter and is now extending the proverbial olive branch to Floyd:
