Think Frazier would beat Tua, think it would be something like Frazier vs Chuvalo. Chuvalo vs Tua would be a good match up and a good fight.

His speed in general aint great and his skills are sub par.

There is a case for him to win some of these fights, given styles and such but i make him underdog against all except Patterson and Marciano and each of those guys is in with a real shot of winning too. Tua has no consistancy and depends on the left hook too much, top fighters know how to adjust and take that from u
You're looking at the sub-par, unmotivated Tua here, which unfortunately wasn't that uncommon for him. Still, I think you're selling Tua short. At his best he also had phenomenal handspeed and lethal combinations along with that sickening left hook, and could and did drop fighters with overhands and uppercuts, often very late into the fight whilst trailing badly on the scorecards. Regarding his resilience, Barrett dropped him when he was way way past his prime, and Rahman never legitimately dropped him at all; it was a balance shot that Tua didn't see coming after the bell. In his prime he was pretty impossible to KO, in as much as such a thing is possible, and possessed first rate stamina (the Ike fight is testament to that). You're right that he was inconsistent and often unmotivated, which is why I think a lot of the above beat him, and if you could keep him on the end of your jab then he was pretty much a sitting duck. Easier said that done though.

Marciano routinely fought much smaller men though and tended to bludgeon them with his shots over the course of the fight. Tua typically hits guys a few times and knocks them out. If you get hit with enough hard shots to the face something's gonna give. Look at Vitali Briggs. Briggs sustained horrific injuries to his face, broken cheekbones, orbital bones, nose etc, yet he lasted to the end. Against Lewis he was KOed clean. Marciano might well hit Tua with more shots (I doubt it personally, given the speed, precision and workrate of a prime Tua) but he'd have to fight right in Tua's comfort zone and I really can't see that working out well for him.

If Tua ran 15 miles a day he might well be the same size as Rocky, but his body would be literally eating itself from the inside out and he'd be nowhere near in fit fighting state for his body type. In-shape Tua is naturally around 215-220lb, the man is a walking slab of muscle. Anything below that and he'd be taking away from his advantages of power, speed (yes speed) and resilience.

I'm sorry but "speed" and "Tua should never be used in the same sentence.

Why's that then ?, because in shape Tua looked pretty damn fast to me.

Believe it or not, Tua actually had pretty decent handspeed when young & in-shape. It gets forgotten, & for good reason, but he could throw at a decent clip, if only for a relatively short period of his career.

Of course, his speed elsewhere was pretty abysmal. Reflexes, footwork, not good. He's way, way out of his depth against almost everyone on this list.

Then I'd suggest you get your eyes checked.

Witty and informative reply as always Poet can always rely on you to give a decent post with your ****ty insults instead of something useful.

I will counter your amazing and seemingly flawless rebuttal with some evidence.
He shows speed through out the whole fight but fast forward to 2:15 for something more.

OH WAIT, my bad, he's not a boxer in the 70s, silly me, Tua is just a fat idiot who is slow and useless.

Another great response Poet, have you just given up on actually talking boxing and just come here to insult people now ?, or is it because you can't hold your weight in a debate so you try and perk yourself up by trying to act higher then others ?.

                    It's boring, very boring.

Why are you on this forum ?, go back to Fantasy Fights where you are having that interesting conversation with Jab on wether Prinze spits or swallows, seems more your kinda thing then Boxing.

Lol you're still sad about the Monzon 'debate' where you cried and got banned from here for a few days ?.

In fact didn't you even leave the forum for a while ?, thanks for reminding me of that I needed a chuckle, that's another instance where you lost a debate and resorted to insults once again but Jab didn't have your back this time.

Either way you're out of you element in the History Section. Now **** off and die and take Black Irish with you.....as far as I'm concerned you're both worthless pieces of **** :loser9:
Irish is actually one of the better posters who adds a lot to the whole forum in general, I'm guessing he got you in a argument as well and you are still upset ?.

I'm out of my Element in the history section ?, I guess you're right, if the History section is for insulting people and discussing if they spit or swallow as you do then I guess this isn't the right section for me.

You've forgotten more then I know about boxing ?, yet here you are crying because I told you Tua has fast hands, shown you a video of him displaying that speed and now you cannot do anything but attempt to insult me.

Poet if you have nothing constructive to add, go away.
                      It's simple.
