He wasn't your non stop headbutting, DQ type guy but he did do a lot of overtly dirty stuff. For some it added to his excitement factor and for others it made him a complete ass.
Wrong , he had Jones in trouble for some periods in that fight when he had him against the ropes and Jones clinched , if he was a Hopkins/Holt/Honeyghan type of dirty (which is even dirtier than Holyfield) he would have butted Jones in those situations.

At his peak, which was pretty short lived, Honeyghan beat a LOT of good fighters and some great ones to.

He was one of only 2 undisputed champions, the other being Hagler, he'd beaten the undefeated Curry CONVINCINGLY on American soil, the undefeated Maurice Blocker, the almost undefeated Rosi, KOing him in 3 in Italy for the Euro title(Rosi afterward became a 5 year light middle champion).

He also beat 3 boxers who had ALL beaten/went on to beat Marlin Starlin even though we all know what happened when Lloyd and Marlin met.

He was 31-0 when he lost to Vaca by which time he was living on the wrong side of the sniff. He never improved after the Vaca fight and was essentially burning out slowly from then on,living the bad life and basically became a slugger.

At his peak, Honeyghan is a more than a match for ANYONE at 147, and that includes Mayweather,Oscar, Manny....ANYONE.
