Liston-Liston was taken to St. Francis Hospital following the fight and emerged hours later with six stitches under his left eye and his left arm in a sling. Eight doctors consulted and came to the conclusion that he had torn a shoulder muscle and the injury was debilitating. Frazier in the third Ali fight was willing to die that night but Futch stopped it.

Patterson toughed it out with a blown out back against Ali until ref stopped it in the 12th.

Tex Cobb had no path to victory against Holmes and took a lopsided beating in every round.

Just out of interest, chris eubank snr said years ago that the best thing anyone can say about him was that even when all was lost and he had no chance, he still got back up to carry on.
That was what he wanted to be said about him by fans.
I see on some videos that seal team 6 and sas and the like say the thing that makes them what they are is the fact that they never quit. They find a way no matter what. never quit.
