What if Gene Tunnney was un-defeated in 60+ fights?

IMO Tunney is not in the conversation for ATG HW. Not enough bouts at that weight. LHW is another story, for despite being ravaged at least twice and possibly three times by a well known middle weight he did have a very good record at 175 against quality opponents.

Hell man, that is fair as ****. My bad, Bronson's as right as any of us.

Would it help if I claimed every fight on my list was billed as HW or is this a debated poundage issue?

I'm just generally interested in what you have to say in this period let alone interested in what you have to say on Tunney. Wish you posted more bro.

          Fun fact.

He used to lightly spar with Hemingway, one time 'Papa' (being the utter c**t he actually was) tried to sucker punch Gene.

Only to see a lightening fast rock hard fist stop within half an inch of his face and Tunney warning him - 'Never do that again'.

Hemingway was a total scumbag, Mailer was another, this was (very politely) demonstrated in the superb 'Shadow Box' by George Plimpton.

Highly recommended if you have never read it.

What survives really for most fans is Tunney retired his title. That's probably why folks love to rate him an ATG HW. With all of what 3 HW fights?

Outside of that, I'm honestly shocked at Bronson's acceptance of Boxrec on Tunney. 65-1-1. says who exactly? Why exactly?

Well I am only goimg by that book. To be fair I have not read any of the biographies.

When George met him when they shook Hemingway tried to crush his hand whilst digging in his nails (as you know).
