Really great events. I was a karateka for about a decade. I had the pleasure of attending one of these events pre pandemic here in NYC at the freedom tower. It was really awesome. The fights were hardcore too.

This is the type of fighting league that ive been waiting for.
I used to watch K-1 but it didnt quite do it for me as the fighters werent that skilled but i was really impressed by Karate combat.

To me, Karate Combat is way more exciting than MMA..

Shiat, I thought karate was about self-defence and NOT using combat unless forced to.

I can appreciate both but you’re right about the excitement level. It’s really a kill or be killed type sport. There are some really really impressive strikers in that league. I’m going to actually watch a event today now that you posted this link. It’s great stuff.

Very cool. I like the pit and the 5 second rule on the ground.

I've seen every episode and I enjoy it but it's painfully obvious at times that:
                  1. Most of these dudes come from a point fighting background
                  2. Most of these dudes have never been punched in the face nor punched anyone else in the face

Too often there is a lack of engagement by the fighters. This is a point fighting mentality because the action is stopped after every sequence, and if you launch an imperfect attack and get countered you lose the point regardless of whether or not you take damage.

The technique they display in their kicks, throws, body punches, etc is fantastic. But every time they try to punch to the face they end up looping wide hooks with no jab to set them up. And they hang their chins out in the air with their hands to their sides, because they're not used to the threat of being punched in the face and are more worried about dealing with kicks.

The solution to both of these problems is boxing training. All of these fighters need to spend at least six months in a boxing gym to understand better the flow of a fight and how to throw and defend punches to the face. Quayhagen is a champion in this promotion precisely because of his boxing ability.
