There are a bunch of reasons this fight won't happen. Maybe most importantly of them is that I still think both guys are just using this as a way to stay in the headlines on a regular basis more than its a legit discussion.
But I'd love for McGregor to try to break his UFC contract via the MAA or at least amend it to have a boxing match if he wanted to as I believe there are huge problems with UFC contracts (not even getting into the money bs which is all people wanna focus on) like the champions clause, signing their likeness away, having to wear a uniform & give away hundreds of thousands of dollars in endorsements yet somehow being considered "independent contractors".

this is exactly why ZUFFA sold UFC when it did - the future was just too unpredictable for the bottom line profit margin. With fighter unions starting to organize, and McGregor realizing his true value to the company, and other fighters soon following his footsteps.
Not to mention with Bellator providing a viable option for fighters to test their true value in free agency.
