Why does she try to box her opponents when she should be clinching and taking them down instead?

She's with the dumbest team in MMA. Her coach is like if James Kirkland become a trainer.
She was light years ahead of her division when she first came into the UFC almost 4 years ago. She never improved or sharpened her skills outside of adding more boxing (cuz Edmund, her coach, is a boxing head first & foremost) from that point 4 years ago. The rest of the division did improve & are now caught up to Ronda, if not by basis of her last two fights surpassed her, although I think she still beats most of the division, just not the last two she's fought & probably 4 or 5 other girls in the top 15.

She should go back to Hayastan Academy and reconnect with her judo roots.
This goofball wannabe boxing coach of hers is going to get her killed.

Awful coaching. It's true that you often need to set up your TD's but there was little about Nunez's game that looked like it would have prevented TD attempts from an Olympic judoka. By the time Rhonda even attempted to throw her, she had taken too many shots and was weakened.
There's a transcript of her corner's instructions and it was just her coach shouting for head movement the whole time. Yea, that wouldn't have been a bad idea but there was a LOT more missing from the scenario.
