first of all, for you to come to that conclusion, you're probably listening to the wrong stuff.
a large majority of main****** ''rappers'' you hear aren't even rappers and to me, they're in a whole other genre, (take lil yachty or young thug for example) that is NOT hip hop. Those artists are considered ''mumble rappers'' in hip hop, because they literally mumble garbage nursery rhyme type lyrics over Trap beats.
Also, real hip hop for the most part is not about singing or the sound of ones voice, it's about lyrical skill, flow and hip hop beats.
another big part of it is sampling, which is why i like hip hop so much, because its so diverse, it can literally contain samples from any genre, from soul, country to rock. it's like having every genre of music in one.

When it comes to the Lyrics, i suggest you give these a listen, i think it'll change your mind and you might even become hooked.

All rap songs express emotion. Even those talking about living the life ****ing women and buying cars. Their emotion is happiness from getting laid and having expensive things. I don't like songs like that, I prefer Nas, Wu, Gang Starr, J. Cole and rappers of that kind. But all rap is literally music.
