    Greatest Song From Every Region

So I got to thinking about this **** last night after smoking a blunt...I want to get a pool of the 25 greatest songs ever going later, but for now i'll stick to the best songs from every region. Pick one song from every area....East, West, Midwest, South...these songs should represent the areas sound as well as represent the best combination of beat and content :

East: Wu-Tang Clan - C.R.E.A.M. (grimey NY beat from one of the greatest, if not the greatest rap group in history...the content and beat are priceless)

West: Dr. Dre feat. Snoop Dogg - Nuthin' but a G Thang (this song personifies the west coast flavor...classic beat and delivery from the two west coast legends)

Midwest: Common - I Used to Love H.E.R. (I believe this is the single greatest song in the history of hip hop...beat is silk, common is flawless and the content is the most original and maybe groundbreaking in hip hop)

South: UGK - One Day (best song from one of the best groups ever...Bun B's best verse came on this track and both emcees killed this beat...which is one of the most amazing beats I've heard)

Add your lists please...reasoning appreciated. Try and think of the best songs from each area regardless...not just your favorite song from that area.

If you think Bun wrecked that track you need to peep "Wood Wheel." That IMO has some of his best lyrics to date. Here are my votes... Did mine more off of impact to the coast

    West: 2Pac - California Love
East: Nas - The World Is Yours (anything off Illmatic really)
South: Geto Boys - Mind's Playin Tricks
Midwest: Bone - Thuggish Ruggish (put the midwest on the map)

Wood Wheel verse is ridiculous too...so is his verse on "Murder". Two of my favorite UGK tracks right there.

I can't wait for that new UGK album to drop this year. I heard since Pimp C has been out of jail he is working on like 6-7 different albums.

I would do a list, but what rappers are decidedly mid-west? What region of the US is this? I'll do one once this is explained.

Though definitions vary, any definition of the Midwest would include the Northwest Ordinance "Old Northwest" states and often includes many states that were part of the Louisiana Purchase. The states of the Old Northwest are also known as "Great Lakes states". Many of the Louisiana Purchase states are also known as Great Plains states. The Midwest is defined by the U.S. Census Bureau as these 12 states:

                * Illinois: Old Northwest, Ohio River and Great Lakes state
                * Indiana: Old Northwest, Ohio River and Great Lakes state
                * Iowa: Louisiana Purchase
                * Kansas: Louisiana Purchase, Great Plains state
                * Michigan: Old Northwest, and Great Lakes state
                * Minnesota: Old Northwest, and Great Lakes state; western part Louisiana Purchase
                * Missouri: Louisiana Purchase, Border state
                * Nebraska: Louisiana Purchase, Great Plains state
                * North Dakota: Louisiana Purchase, Great Plains state
                * Ohio: Old Northwest (Historic Connecticut Western Reserve), Ohio River and Eastern Great Lakes state. Also a Northeastern Appalachian state in the SE.
                * South Dakota: Louisiana Purchase, Great Plains state
                * Wisconsin: Old Northwest, and Great Lakes state

Rap from detroit, kansas city, st louis, chicago, etc...
