    Nas' "I Gave You Power"

To me, this is a monumental song. A lot of people give it is due as an amazing lyrical performance, but no one really breaks the song down further than saying something like it's dope because he rapped in the point of view of a gun.

I'm asking you, what does this song mean to you? What do you think it really means, what do you get from it?

What do you think that it means, what is it about? What do you get from it? An answer to these questions is the kind of reply that I'm looking for.

The song is really deep, but most people don't think about what it could possibly be saying or the affect of the concept.

Yeah, that is the surface. But underneath the surface, what do you think he was trying to do by rapping in the view of a gun? What do you think he was saying by doing so? What affect does this concept have? Also, do you see any metaphors in the concept? If so, what are they?

Well, I have my own interpretations of this song but I want to hear other peoples interpretations of it first and then share mine later.
