Just came from the barbershop and paid $18. Is that expensive?
I really don’t know what the going rate is these days, as I’ve been going to the same little independently owned shop for years. It has probably been around 6 years now. Maybe more. They know me and they know what I like to get. They’re friendly enough. They’re a European family. They have several kids. Their oldest used to always be in there cutting hair. Went to my high school too. He’s a little younger than me. He used to be the main one who did my hair but I haven’t seen him in a bit.
The wife has a young one. Can’t be any older than 2. Their shop is huge and they always have toys scattered around and the kids usually there, crying. I know that they used to have cheaper rates, but $18 seems expensive. My haircuts are pretty straight forward. Nothing too crazy. I just get a fade. And I like them to line me up. A fade with a lineup really costs $18? Well when I went to the counter, he said, ?18. For the holidays.? So cuz it’s November, that means I get charged a higher rate? I always tip good. I tipped $7 this time. Maybe their business is slow cuz of the virus, so they had to jack up their prices?
