Ballot Initiatives Are A Really Good Thing, And We Should Have More Of Them

Ballot Initiatives are topics people directly vote on like minimum wage, legalizing marijuana, affirmative action, etc... this happens typically during a major election season.


We are a country of 50 states, so instead of arguing what the course for the whole country should be and relying on our feckless politicians to accomplish the will of the people it would become a lot more beneficial if those people just voted on the issues directly, so long as they do not contradict the constitution.

Instead of delegating things like ******** and healthcare to congress and the supreme court, I think it would be a lot better if each states population voted on the matter themselves.

That is our system. The tenth ********* is quite clear on that. The Feds largely ignore this and people don't hold them accountable. So yeah.

Then quit cheerleading for the party who calls for more Federal regulations and mandates, and start voting for the guys who call a smaller Federal Government and for State's rights.

The people in New Jersey and North Dakota voted to legalize recreational use of Marijuana, people in Florida meanwhile voted to raise the minimum wage. Doing it this way is much better than having some lying politician promising to do it for you, cut the middle man out.

We're a representative democracy not a direct democracy

I dont trust the ppl deciding things through ballot initiative

We already see how ppl are influenced my media, advertisements and internet

All these ballot initiatives will come down to who has more money to pay for most ads

The biggest problem is local govt

School boards, city councils, mayors, etc

Ppl just don't pay attention to these small time elections and small time ppl
