And to clarify, I'm not talking about fantasy sports.
I ask because that sounds so different than what I experienced. And the ones I used were offshore (Central America). Once the US banned offshore sports ********, they all went belly-up.
Oddly, we didn't ban offshore futures betting until ***** was in office. But we banned offshore sports ******** during the 1990s.

I don't really care that much either way just a minor hobby, no one's coming after a low roller like me.
I was hoping it was legal here in the US like before, but it isn't. I'm glad you get to gamble on sports online when you want. Good luck when you do!

Friend of mine founded an offshore sports betting site in Malta
Sold it for $1 to his partner when ***** banned it
Partner ended up in jail for US tax avoidance
Easier prosecution than ******** stuff apparently
Friend now owns online poker site based in Caribbean still targeting US
Supposedly legal

I saw someone post a wild parlay, didn't think $3M was the payout.
I tried to put $50 on this parlay and got rejected, put $20 and it went thru.

It wasn't ***** who banned offshore sports ********.
That happened during the W Bush years, before *****.
Again, I was actively doing it back then. I had accounts on two different sites. I had to pull my money out after the ban legislation was passed but before the law took effect.
They later banned futures betting (like betting on elections and other current events) under *****.
