    Can someone explain "systemic Racism"

So I had noticed in the past few weeks there had been a spate of violent offending in my area, this wasn't related to protesting or anything it was just a variety of thuggish behaviour

I mentioned that in all of these cases the offenders were of a particular shall we say "background". Now this was simply a correct observation. If all the offenders had ginger hair, it would be a notable correlation.

What was responded to me was this was due to "systemic Racism"

    So waithang on a minute

This is REALLY a thing now

We are actually saying people are committing unprovoked crimes because of the fault of white people, and that's seen as an acceptable excuse.

    **** this planet.

It’s simply an excuse for people to fail In life and commit crime without taking personal responsibility.

That’s the top and bottom of it these days. Systemic racism in 2020 is a myth. If anything, being black in 2020 has more advantages, such as lesser requirements to get into higher education etc.

Broke white people have it the worst of all. Nothing in place to help them get a leg up and still get maligned for being white and having white privilege , despite not having a pot to pi55 in. No easy college access for those folk.

I'm not sure what's going on in your neighborhood, but the definition of systemic racism is not "because of white people." I know some white folk have a center of the world complex, but not everything is about you.

Here's a good definition with an example.

Institutional racism (also known as systemic racism) is a form of racism that is embedded as normal practice within society or an organisation. It can lead to such issues as discrimination in criminal justice, employment, housing, health care, political power and education, among other issues.

Systemic racism: Refers to the rules, practices and customs once rooted in law. These may have changed over time, resulting in a facade of "equality," but the residual effects reverberate throughout entire societal systems, said Andra Gillespie, an associate professor of political science and director of the James Weldon Johnson Institute at Emory University.

For example, while redlining -- a multifaceted practice of denying financial, government and other services to people in certain neighborhoods or communities based on race or ethnicity -- is illegal, the homes in those communities, as a result of that long-standing practice, often haven't appreciated at the same rate as in white suburban communities, sociology and policy experts said. This means that, when people of color who live in redlined communities get ready to sell their homes, they receive far less in proceeds and have far less capital to leverage.

Additionally, these communities tend to have a lower tax base and as a result, their schools have fewer resources to educate children of color. That puts those communities' kids behind their white peers academically, epidemiology, sociology and African American studies experts told ABC News.

Here’s a clip from Don Lemon 7 years ago discussing issues and some solutions that affect the black community.

Fast forward 7 years later and you can explain all the problems in the black community as a result of “systemic racism?and white supremacy.

                  Green K.

Things happen for concrete reasons, not ideological reasons... When we see a white lady throw a fit in a store, it is not because of systematic white racism, it is because that lady is behaving in a matter that needs to be addressed.

ideological reasons create confusion, resentment and anger... concrete reasons create solutions.

Another great contribution towards concrete action: Defining a concept used ideologically in a nebulous fashion is dangerous...When we define the terms, and give them real meanings with concrete causes and effects, and historical precedents, one can then realistically address a problem.
