The only reason this story even has any legs at all is because the conservative twitterati won't shut up about it. Your problem is that Ms Reade's allegation were corroborated.

They've found several witnesses who have said she told them at the time what had happened.

That wasnt the case with Ms Ford.
(And on top of that Ms Ford committed perjury, but that's another story)

And I agree, we have the presumption of innocence in this country.

But highlighting the straight up superfandom and blatant double standard by the politicians, activists, and superfans is a completely different topic.

I'm just surprised at the sheer audacity of it.

They were screaming at the top of their lungs when **********/conservative men were the accused that "All women are to be believed" and the accused were guilty and couldn't possibly prove their innocence.

But when a ******** politician was the accused, well now the tune had changed to, "He said he didnt do it any that's good enough for me".
