One of my friends had that exact job when we were about 20. He watched sports, mainly basketball and boxing, for a company that was contracted by ESPN. He would sit at a cube, watch the content and make a list of of instances during the broadcast that logos, graphics, and theme music from the original ABC, NBC, CBS, etc broadcast so an editing team could come back later and overlay or edit the segments out.
$10 an hour. Said he hated it after a few weeks.
Was funny because he didn't really care about boxing, but knew everything about 80s-2000s boxers because he'd watched so many matches over time.
