is Lewis Hamilton the best F1 driver ever?

would he have derailed Michael Schumacher of winning so many consecutive championships?

Hamilton has won more than a third of all of his F1 races. He just won his 6th world championship.

Does the brit go down as the best ever? especially after using Nicole Scherzinger while she was still fit in her 30's.

What you think? Why aint there any american F1 drivers, is this why he's winning?

Not really fair to compare drivers from different era's, but it seems without a shadow of a doubt that? Hamilton is the bench mark, but things can change really quick in formula One. You have to take things one race at a time, as there are so many variables effecting ones performance 'Hamilton's consistency, no matter what car he has been in has been his greatest strength' Hamilton has won a race in every single season he has competed in, that for me is his greatest statistic and shows his consistency.

You get some of the new crop trying to downplay Hamilton, but when the pressure is all on them? I want to see how they perform. Hamilton has reached that level where, people are just waiting for him to fail 'He pretty much battered Nico Roseberg into retirement' with his share intensity 'Attempting to beat Lewis Hamilton over one season in the same car, is like climbing Mount Everest through the death zone'

From this era my favorites drivers are Fernando Alonso & Lewis Hamilton.

I believe that Max Verstappen is air to the throne.

But yes Lewis Hamilton is one of the greatest formula 1 drivers of all time 'It is not just about statistics ether'.

I still put Schumi above him.

I's put him in that GOAT tier, yeah.

A lot of different era's in F!, radical changes in tech and rules over the decades.

But he belongs in the discussion.

Statistically, other drivers were 'better' because they won more F1 titles. Schumacher got 7, Hamilton 6, Alonso and Prost 4 etc. Senna won the championship 'only' 3 times.

But if it wasn't for his early death I'm sure he'd have more and Schumacher would have less because Senna was still prime at the time Schumi won his first titles. They'd have a legendary rivalry if Senna didn't die.

Senna had the most raw talent in the history of the sport imo. He is arguably the best wet weather driver in F1 history . He was more of a wildcard opposed to other greats who were more methodical and tactical.

He also had a great rivalry with Prost who himself is an ATG and one of the best ever.

It's a matter of personal opinion obviously but I think he really was the GOAT. Not because he died, but because of his talent and style. Plus I can't stand Hamilton just like I couldn't stand Schumacher because they're both dirty mfers on the track so there's that...

Fernando Alonso won two titles, 'But he was the man who dethroned Ferrari and Schumacher' Alonso's years at Ferrari also elevated his status, due to at times taking the title down to the last race in a car which was struggling in some area's 'But overall Ferrari was always a durable car, probably most reliable of that era'.

Lewis Hamilton's hero is Aryton Senna, that is why he wears Yellow Helmet. I just like the way Hamilton does not give up, the other day in Austin? He was not really on for a win, as when he kept on asking his engineers for estimates or options 'They where silent and just giving him encouragement' But he nearly nearly won, in a race where he only needed 4 points. Hamilton in his first year of formula 1 as a rookie was paired with Fernando Alonso, and they fought to a stalemate, I think Hamilton had more wins that season so? Some say that he beat Alonso over 1 season, but technically they both finished on exactly the same points.

Hamilton lost the championship in his first year by 1 point due to crashing out of a race at Brazil if my memory is correct, so just imagine 'He could of had 7 titles already by now'.

Note: I have not voted on the pole.
