How improper is it to smoke a cigarette on your porch in your underwear?

I just moved into a pretty nice, clean neighborhood where all the people seem really proper and whitebread.

When I smoke I do it outside because I don't want it to smell inside. I've been smoking in my backyard but I wanted a change of scenery so I decided to smoke on my porch and it was already pretty dark and late.

When it's nighttime and I'm at home i'm always usually just in my underwear. As I was smoking... the family next door pulled into their driveway and they had kids with them, and there I was smoking a cigarette in my underwear and I felt pretty damn embarrassed.

If it's your house, your porch, are you allowed to smoke in your underwear or will people judge you for it.

I smoke in my backyard that’s surrounded by high walls so nobody can see me. I always try to enter and exit my home real low key so that nobody sees me. Few of my neighbors has never got a good look at me. I like to move in total silence.
