            In the past the Yankees were called the Evil Empire because they had more money than any other team. The Dodgers now are in the same role only on the West coast.

              About time:

              TAMPA, Fla. -- The Yankees have amended their long-standing facial grooming policy, with managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner announcing on Friday that players and coaches will be permitted to “have well-groomed beards moving forward.”

              No longer will new acquisitions be required to shave facial hair upon arrival. Devin Williams was one recent example; after being acquired from the Brewers in December, the right-handed closer said he hadn’t been clean-shaven for about six years and hoped to keep his beard “as long as I can.”
