Yes it seems like there's history there.

The way human minds work, the killer likely made the deceased out to be some monster in her own mind over the course of their feud.

By the time she murdered her, the killer probably thought of her as a lesser human. The "stand your ground law" may have popped into her head several times over the course of the feud.
