    Travel trailers/R.V's

Don't know how I fell into this rabbit hole, but now I want one.

Used to camp a bit years ago, but got away from it. Want to get back into it, visit a few state/national parks.

Been looking at some some Jayco and Outdoor RV joints.

Anybody that owns one, drop some knowledge.

Yeah, not looking at getting some crazy 5th wheel or anything.

Under 25 feet, some solar, decent water, gray and black tank gallon capability, gvwr around 6-7k.

I think about this too, quite often. I'd just hate to break down in one, and I don't really enjoy driving as much as I used to. Would you venture into Mexico with it?

          No Mexico.

That's something to consider, as far as breaking down, but I'm also looking at reliable tow rigs as well. Class C, B, and motor homes are not even on my radar, budget wise.

I was thinking 5,000 pounds or less, something that could be towed with a 6 cylinder Explorer or an Astro van.

Lots of options out there in that sub 5k category. Haven't ruled something out in that size.

Been eyeballing some older 6.0 diesel Fords, hell, if If I find a 5.4 2v with decent miles, I'd scoop one up.

Rent one first before you buy

RV's aren't very reliable, they have frequent engine and transmission problems. You really are better off with a 5th wheel you can tow. Especially if you aren't looking for anything too big.
