Watch past season 1 which is just good. Season 2 is very good and the last season of Leftovers is amazing.

Well, now that the show has finished I'll give my two cents. I liked the series. It was very much and up and down in terms of quality. I believe 9 episodes was far too short. If you've ever played the game you'll know there's a wealth of material in the first game to make two seasons. Ishi, the fireflys, the cult and the cannibals....all these stories could have spanned three episodes.

I think it was rushed, which is unusual for a HBO show since they usually allow their writers as much freedom as they need. For example, David Chase was allowed to postpone part 2 of The Sopranos season 6 to allow him more time to write the episodes.

All in all, it was decent and certainly watchable but I do feel the 9.0 iMDB rating is inflated. I would not put this show in the same league as The Wire, The Sopranos, The Left Overs, GoT or even Watchmen....so the 9.0 rating is nothing but fanboyism.

Unless it's 16 episodes I cant see how they could fit the second game into one season.
