Some rap is good. NWA, Tupac, 50 cent...but I hate how it's become the be all and end all of what represents black music today. The music made by black artists in the period 1950s-1980s was some of the best music ever made in the history of music.
I think we would have had more Otis Reddings, Aretha Franklins, Jame Browns, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonders, Sam Cookes, Marvin Gayes, Princes in 2022 if rap didn't take such a hold on talented young men who chose to pursue rap or gave up altogether. Those amazing singers weren't lightning in a bottle - all that talent is laying dormant somewhere in some ******. And for all the anger in some rap music, it hasn't progressed black people in America one iota. It's entertaining and that is all, whereas those songs of the past actually inspired positive change:
I don't listen to that trash but some ****** chicks me and my friends hang out with do. I'm obviously not gonna say no to ****** drunk girls shaking their ass and likely **** them. All you need is a bit of patience
