*** was an important movement in its early days because it brought to the forefront how little the authorities cared about police brutality against black people. I would go as far as to say black people in America were looked on with a certain contempt by lawmakers, the police and authorities. Unfortunately, the *** was infiltrated by a group of activists who didn't care one iota about black people and used the movement to push their own agendas, many of which were viewed as subversive by the majority of black people. Ironically, it's another example of white people derailing a noble cause and destroying it from within; similar to how they claimed they were helping "empower" black people in response to the civil rights movement, but were really just creating ******s.
