There's a difference beetwen fcking up, not owning it and blaming it on racism instead, and an actual ignorant at best, racist at worst, comment.

If somebody said slavery wasn't about race we'd ridicule that person too, don't worry.

Plus I don't see any outrage in this thread, just LOLs.

Why would you repeatedly watch that junk?

I don’t get why so many people are upset about what she said. She just said because it was mostly white people killing white peooke she didn’t look at it as a racial issue. She didn’t say that the Holocaust was any less horrible because of it. Surprising she she also blamed all races for racism. Not sure why this is a big deal at all. It changes nothing and hurts nobody. Suspending someone for this is laughable but that’s where we are now.

Only the privileged can get away with threatening to quit over a suspension they deserve...

Whoopi Goldberg ‘livid,’ threatening to quit ‘The View’ over her suspension: source

Whoopi Goldberg is “livid” after from “The View” over her claim that the Holocaust was “” — and is telling co-workers she is going to quit the show, according to a source.

Goldberg, 66, feels “humiliated” at being disciplined by ABC execs after she followed their advice to apologize for the ill-conceived comments, a well-placed insider told The Post.

“She feels ABC executives mishandled this. She followed their playbook. She went on ‘The Late Show With Steven Colbert’ and then apologized again on ‘The View’ the next day,” a source said.

The source added that while Goldberg is taking the suspension hard and says she wants to leave the show, insiders believe she’s likely just sounding off.

“Her ego has been hurt and she’s telling people she’s going to quit,” the source said. “Suspension from ‘The View’ is like getting suspended from Bravo. The bar is very low.”

Reps for Goldberg and ABC did not return requests for comment.

Goldberg raised eyebrows on “The View” Monday when she insisted that ****s and ***s were both white. Higher-ups at the network urged that evening but she repeated the statement while attempting to clarify her comments. The next day, she .

But her words weren’t enough for ABC top brass. announced her decision to suspend Goldberg for two weeks late Tuesday, that such decisions “are never easy, but necessary.”

“Words matter and we must be cognizant of the impact our words have,” Godwin wrote in a memo to employees that dubbed Goldberg’s initial comments “wrong and hurtful.”

As news of the suspension rippled through the network, it angered not only Goldberg but .

“I love Whoopi Goldberg. I love ‘The View,’” Ana Navarro told the Daily Beast on Tuesday evening. “This was an incredibly unfortunate incident. Whoopi is a lifelong ally to the ***ish community. She is not an anti-Semite, period. I am sad. And I have nothing else to say.”

Goldberg first argued that the Holocaust went beyond race during a discussion on “The View” about a Tennessee school district’s “Maus,” the Pulitzer Prize-winning graphic novel about a Holocaust survivor.

“The Holocaust isn’t about race. No, it’s not about race,” Goldberg said. “It’s about man’s inhumanity to man.”

unfortunately for 'whoopi' her and people like her were the ones who created this culture where a slip of the tongue makes you public enemy number 1. as far as im concerned if we are placing this case in the context of current climate in terms of (lack) of free speech, being politically correct then she deserved to be suspended. We had someone over here sacked, not just suspended, for calling a male footballer who was feigning injury 'a big girls blouse', so saying the ****s werent racist is way worse. i didnt like the tone she took either, talking over other people acting like she is the authority on racism, i think its hilarious they forced her into an apology and then suspended her after anyway

"'s suspension from this week is the pinnacle of a years-long habit of making off-color remarks about ***ish people that includes a recipe she wrote for a celebrity cookbook in the 1990s called '***ish American Princess Fried Chicken', DailyMail.com can reveal.

In 1993, Goldberg - whose real name is Caryn Johnson - submitted the recipe to Cooking in The Litchfield Hills, a charity cookbook comprised of recipes from the well-heeled residents of the leafy suburb.

DailyMail.com exclusively obtained a copy of the long-forgotten cookbook, where Whoopi's recipe mocking ***ish-American women glaringly stands out amongst friendlier submissions like legend Diane Sawyer's 'roasted potato skins with scallion dip', the late Eartha Kitt's 'summer zucchini soup with nasturtium blossoms' and Oscar de la Renta's 'fresh pumpkin and crab soup'"
