'horror show' for netflix as share prices fall by 20 percent

For many years the brand synonymous with TV and film ******ing, Netflix is now facing a crisis as investor confidence plummets and new subscribers are drying up. The platform has received criticism for a steep reduction in the quality of its shows, with accusations that it has converted into the very thing it was brought in as an alternative to by emphasising star names over quality, creative scriptwriting, epitomised by the disastrous 'dont look up'. What does the future hold for netflix, will it be surpassed by other ******ing companies in the near future? Do people feel it offers value for money still as it puts its prices up or are there better alternatives?

    I love Netflix

I watch a bunch of Scandinavian and German shows. They’re awesome!

Don't look up was much better than I thought it would be.

I enjoyed it too and overall I think it was pretty well received outside of knee jerk political reactionaries. The thread starter ain't using his own words in his post though... he's not the kinda dude who uses words like 'epitomising' ... and the post ain't taken from the linked article which barely mentions the Movie and certainly doesn't imply it's to blame for the drop in sghare price.

Where did you find the quote that makes up the body of your post Madison boxing? It doesn't really reflect what's in the article at all.. Essentially blames the slump on the growth in rival services and the bursting of the COVID / Lockdown bubble which might have led to an overvaluation rather than on programming quality.

Wish folk would credit sources when they pull quotes off the internet...

Netflix used to be the king because it was the first steaming based platform. There are now dozens that offer the same, if not better content.

TV in general is now completely fu#ked. ******ing services were brought up as an alternative and cheaper way to cut cable, but all of these ******ing services are limited in content and they all cost something.

If you want to get everything that cable offers through ******ing, I don’t even know if it would be cheaper. Cuz you still need your internet for the ******ing too. How many ******ing services are you going to get? There’s dozens of them now.

Hulu, ESPN+, HBO Max, Prime Video, Netflix, and whatever the fu#k else there is. Sh#ts too confusing now at this point.

I meant in terms of viewership and popular response..

2nd most watched Netflix movie ever don't really support the argument you seem to be trying to make though does it? Hardly 'disastrous' really now is it, although I know some folk found the satirisation of their political beliefs kinda objectionable which I suspect was your real point in bringing the movie up.

And for real if you did write the OP yourself then please accept my apologies, The construction's far more formal and the language much tighter than Ive come to expect from your posts, but it was an unfair accusation to make in the absence of proof. Honestly if you wrote it I'd take that as a compliment cos my assumption was it was lifted from the slightly more upmarket segment of the right leaning press, possibly something like the Spectator maybe.

IF you look into netflix properly they have a pretty suspect business model

They also have a ton of woke ***in content.. that in general people don't like.. same with Disney +.. IDK when tv/movie companies will get it.. i would think $$$ came above the "message" they constantly try and push

The problem as well is that.. when these shows go woke.. they usually focus on the woke and not the quality of the show

I like Ozarks for example but even then its got the Main character being cucked by his wife.. constantly being belittled and talked down to by his wife and some redneck trash girl.. and then a creep as **** gay FBI agent.. having *******ual *** with another redneck AND his partner

But even so.. i give it a pass because for the most part its not bad.. a very poor mans breaking bad (which was a GOAT show)
