As far as homicides, it really cant compare back in the 80's-90's.
What I can say, is the homelessness is out of control.
I took a drive to moms house out in Roseville the other day.
And some of the shit I saw reminded of the 880 and connecting shit out in Emeryville-Oakland back in the day.
Roseville is one of the nicer "Burbs" out here.
Downtown-Midtown Sac, even worse, under the 80.
Its the haves, have nothings, and Im just trying not to lose my temper and fucking flash on somebody.

Ive had no desire to go to L.A. since Villaraigosa left. I only go to watch the Dodgers play. Like another poster said L.A. was much worse before especially with gang violence.
OGs these days are just dealing with the Snitch9 generation. These young thugs these days are all for themselves. Prisons in Cali are nothing but gang dropouts. Theres no loyalty and with all the fetanyl out there, theres a lot of ruthlessness. Gangs will always be around but you cant get away with half the sh.t gangs did in the 80s and 90s.

New York City born and raised here but can't wait to move to Florida, hoping to go this year. When you visit there it is the greatest feeling in the world, many of the people I grew up wth left this year and can't wait to do that too.Comment
