The Last of us?

Just bought The last of us on PS3 - having a hard time getting started as it seems a bit long and far fetched.

What is the general thought about it? Should I bite my gumshield for 10 minutes through the story and get on with it?

How good is it?

I borrowed it off a mate and played it in a weekend straight

I thopught it was amazing but the gameplay imo IS an acquired taste, persist with it though it deserves completion

QUALITY game...

The clickers were a cool addition to the zombie/infected type thing imo.. i hated them and they freaked me out.. there is a stage very early on which i hated.. you have many of them wandering about in the dark.. it was one of the first real stages with infected and threw you right in

But the first 2 hours or so i was not blown away.. The game is all about Ellie and Joel imo and until after Bills they don't really start to connect.. But after Bills town.. the game was fantastic for me.. i blew through the game in just over a day..

I maybe on the other side of the fence here.. but i preferred fighting Humans over infected. That may also be why i wasn't so into the first few hours of the game..

The multiplayer is good also.. it's much more measured and not run and gun COD type.. I loved the gameplay.. the feeling of smashing someones face in with a 2x4 or slashing a neck with an axe was great.

9/10 game for me.. because i wasn't a huge fan of the ending.. (all though i did understand it).. NEW DLC will be out soon for SP i believe also.

If you're only a few hours in, you should give it a few moar hours before you give up on it, don't think I really got into teh game until 3-4 hours in, not counting teh intro. It's definitely a GOTY contender, some even tout it as their game of teh generation. Teh multiplayer is professionally addictive. I put over 60 hours in that ****, and I've never even played an online shooter before it..

One time I convinced my cousin to get Fallout 3. He never made it out of the underground killing radroaches and took the game back. A few months later he came over and I was blasting fools heads of and putting in work, he said "that game looks amazing, what's it called"? I said "Fallout 3". He looked like this

It seems a bit quiet to begin with, but will definitely try to go through initial pain to see what is going to happen.

Everybody are raving about the story of the game - as if you could go back and watch it as a movie once you've finished it.

This would have been my Game of the Year, if it wasn't for GTA5.

If you put in the time, you'll really get into the story and feel an attachment to the characters.

I do love post apocalyptic books/movies/games though. This game has "The Road" (book) feel to it. It's dark, bleak but at the same time there are plenty of exciting and challenging moments in the game. I loved everything about this game. Even online was fun (which I didn't expect to even play). There are basically four chapters of the game (or seasons I can't remember ). Each gets better so if you're only on the first it will be much more enjoyable as you play.

Great game, and if you like story with your game it's a must play.

If you get to the Winter section and start playing through that and don't absolutely love it, it probably isn't your kind of game.

the intro and the 1st half of the game is uneventful and tedious it will pick up by mid-fall so stick with it.

definitely a quality game but probably the most overrated game in the history of ever
