    Is Sony updating the online servers??

    I've always thought the worst thing about the PS3 was the horrible online experience.

    Xbox mentioned adding 300K servers, I didn't hear anything about PS4 upgrading their servers.

    How long will it be before PS4 starts making it mandatory to pay for online, especially since they're getting a bunch of new users who are gonna expect a smooth online experience?

    I had no issue with online experience. I admit when I had an ass connection, I would often get dropped from online play but that was back when gta4 was new. Once I got a quality connection with protected wifi, no problems at all. I could grind for hours with perfect connection.

    A lot of times its the game's servers not ps3 servers that had issues. I could get dropped from one game but play a different game online with no issues. (Ie: Ea servers)

    I was/am pleased with my ps3 online play. I don't gota add people to hear them either. (Could be a bad thing too but mute is handy)

      Well yes, Sony purchased Gaikai last year, which will mean a massive improvement for online gaming.

      Also, this information is already out - the PS4 will require a PS+ membership to play online games. It comes out to the same cost as xbox live. With the PS+ membership you will also receive discounts and free games. A PS+ account is not required however to access the internet or other such services such as Netflix. Also the PS3 will continue to remain free of cost for online play.

        I didn't hear it during the E3 event.

        According to Xbox, you'll be able to download 2 free games a month as long as you have Xbox live gold.

            They're only just doing that until the Xbox One comes out, it's just a cheap promotion to try and stop people from switching to the PS4.

              Which is fine by me, but they already started it, they're giving people some game called Fable, as long as I've been on XBL, i've never seen them give full games away.

              my 20 GB is full so i'm not downloading it.

                I didnt know psn been doing that for a long time found that at E3 and the gaikai thing too also psn+ means money coming in and hopefully better servers etc.

                  News to me too, they're gonna need the support if they plan on having a bunch of new users.

                    Yeah well i didnt know either i been an xbox guy since the first one and also like you heard the **** about PSN being crap but it's time for a change soon, should be fun and sounds like a good time to try out Sony i hope gaikai and their servers dont blowup with all the new users influx they are going to get .
                    Also not to mention i still get to play the exclusives i like from Xbox on my 360 since they said they will support it through 2017 so really not missing out on much.
