Of course one or two will have problems, just like any other electronic product.

Thank you, is that 'request a supervisor'? any tips on what i can use to convince them? I mean i do not mistreat my system, i look after it carefully.

**** like this is bound to happen with new technology, especially when it comes to video game consoles.

Does that make it any easier to deal with? Absolutely not.

Call 'em back and request a supervisor, be very polite and try to explain it all the best you can to him. Hopefully that'll get you somewhere.

I do know that there's a growing internet movement of PS3 owners who've been stricken with the YLOD. Sony should set up some sort of customer support for this issue like Microsoft did with the 360.

Granted the 360's failure rate is a lot higher than the PS3, but I've been hearing an awful lot of reports about YLOD as of late and it sounds like it's starting to occur in larger numbers.

So it'd be best for them to get on the ball with correcting the problem now, rather than wait for it to potentially blow up in their face.

Microsoft lost an awful lot of customers by trying to pretend the problem didn't exist. Sony would be best suited to learn from their mistake.

Nowhere near the amount of failures for the 360, but yes ; the amount of PS3's experiencing YLOD is increasing.

A friend of mine's and my sister's bf's have both YLOD'd in the past month.

And there's been an increase in reports of YLOD on the internet.

Of course the YLOD problem will increase.. I don't think it will ever reach the amount of RROD... in my opinion... Just too much Epic Fail on the 360.
